Scott Simpson, Managing Principal
Scott has extensive global business management, product development, and manufacturing experience. Scott energizes teams to find robust, practical, real world solutions to technology and business problems. His hands on approach and commitment to structured, systematic analysis and thinking enable him to quickly engage in effective business and technical problem solving.
Scott’s technical background includes design, development and implementation of complex electronics systems, hardware and software solutions for real-time automotive embedded control applications. Among his technology roles, Scott worked with leading global automotive suppliers to bring cutting edge subsystem, semiconductor and electromechanical components to market across all the major automotive systems found in today’s vehicles.
Throughout his career Scott has been on the forefront of technology innovation. This includes the application of information technology tools to facilitate and manage the product development process as well as daily manufacturing operations. He learned and continues to apply the use of the right data to drive the decision making process as well as to manage daily operations.
In addition to his technical expertise, Scott has extensive experience in building and leading high performing, diverse global teams. His understanding of effective team dynamics provides a key dimension for transforming and improving organizations. He is adept at assessing individual and team effectiveness and applying proven methods to strengthen the performance of both.
Prior to establishing Vector Associates, Scott served as the Global Director for Powertrain and Vehicle Control Electronics at Visteon Corporation. In this role, Scott led a global $500 million P&L automotive component and systems business. He was responsible for strategic planning, technology planning, marketing, business development and new product development as well as the cross-functionally aligned sales, finance, purchasing, human resources, and manufacturing organizations. His extensive previous experience includes a wide range of business planning, electronics engineering, electronics manufacturing and sales roles.
Scott has a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on electronics hardware and software design from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He also earned a Master’s in Business Administration with high honors from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.
